    Question

My mini Elizabeth finally came yesterday. She is a little weird looking, but not as bad as on the AG site. I compared her to my mini Nellie since they are supposed to have the same face mold and they do seem to. However, mini Nellie somehow looks more normal and cute.

Anyway, I have some "issues" with mini Elizabeth's dress and was wondering if anyone else out there has the mini doll and can compare notes. Her dress seems short--I expected floor length and it is really about 1 inch off the ground. The bottom seam of the front panel also curls up in an annoying fashion. Also, her sleeves seem really short--like short sleeves and I expected 3/4 length or long. Is this how the big Elizabeth's dress is? It basically seems like the mini doll's dress is too small for her. The dress itself is really pretty in overall and has such fine detailing--the finest of any of the mini dolls. Her shoes are really cute too. So far they seem to stay on better than my PM mini Felicity's shoes.

I got mini Felicity too and was disappointed to see that the flowers on her travel gown are printed and not embroidered. Did they change that on the big doll's dress too? I haven't opened new Felicity yet, since she is for Christmas. Just peeked in the front oval and saw the non-embroidery. From my peeking, she looks pretty cute, not as "psycho" as the photo on the AG website.

My mini elizabeth's dress curls up in the front and is a bit short. Maybe just under an inch off the ground. Her shoes are to big, and had actually falled off in the box. One of the bows looks like it needs to be stitched back down. Her sleeves do look like short sleeves, but the lace makes them 3/4.

My mini Felicity doesn't look nearly as evil as the catalog one either. I actually think she is quite cute. I don't mind that the flowers are not embroidered, that would be A LOT of effort, even though the mini dolls are known for detail. The multiple hems are good enough for me. Her dress seems plasticky though.

I love that the dolls have mini shifts on.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I just looked at AG's picture again and it in, mini Elizabeth's dress looks like it is almost to her shoetops. However, all of the minis I see on ebay have the same short dress as mine. I guess it is the way they made her. I like her curls and hair better than AG's picture, so that makes up for it!

Embroidered flowers would be tricky that small, but I think they could have done it since they managed all of Elizabeth's little bows! Overall, I'm pleased with the look of the actual mini dolls compared to the freaky look of the AG site pix. And, all the little details are so cute.

Look closely at Elizabeth's bows. They aren't bows at all, but just a ribbon folded as it is sewn along the line. A pretty detail, that is actually quite easy to sew.

I think it's weird how the picture on the back of the boxes they come in is of the full sized doll, not the mini doll.

Something else I noticed about my mini dolls.
Elizabeth's neck says pleasant company and Felicity's neck says American Girl LLC
